Private Groups

Private groups keep your sensitive tabs hidden from casual view and search.

  1. Open the group’s edit menu
  2. Enable Private
  3. Optionally set a password
  4. Save changes

Private groups have special behavior:

  • Always collapsed: Private groups stay collapsed by default
  • Lock icon: A lock icon indicates the group is private
  • Search exclusion: Tabs in private groups don’t appear in search results
  • Inheritance: All sub-groups also become private automatically

Add an extra layer of security with a password:

  1. Enable password protection when making a group private
  2. Enter a password
  3. The password is required to expand and view the group’s contents

Without the password, you can see the group exists but not its contents.

To view a password-protected group:

  1. Click on the group
  2. Enter the password when prompted
  3. The group expands to show its contents

The unlock persists for your current session.

To make a group public again:

  1. Open the group’s edit menu
  2. Disable Private
  3. Save changes

All sub-groups regain normal behavior and tabs become searchable again.
